1. Information Collection and Use

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We do not collect, store, or share your personal data on our servers. All data related to your learning progress, word lists, and settings is stored locally on your device using Chrome's Local Storage API.

User-Provided Information

You may provide an API Key for Google Gemini. This key is stored locally on your device and is only used to authenticate requests to the Google Gemini API directly from your browser.

2. External Services

Our extension interacts with the following third-party services:

• Google Gemini API: We send the text you select (words or sentences from subtitles) to Google's Gemini API to generate definitions, translations, and flashcards. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for more information on how they handle data.
• YouTube: The extension functions on YouTube.com to access subtitles. We do not collect your viewing history or personal YouTube data.

3. Data Storage

All your dictionary data (words, definitions, history) is stored locally in your browser. If you uninstall the extension or clear your browser data, this information may be lost unless you have exported a backup.

4. Permissions

We request the following permissions to provide the extension's functionality:

• activeTab / scripting: To access subtitles and display translations on YouTube videos.
• storage / unlimitedStorage: To save your dictionary and settings locally.
• notifications / alarms: To remind you to review words.
• Host Permissions: To communicate with YouTube and Google Gemini API.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
